Oh bad luck. I always wait till it’s very very obvious before congratulating someone on being pregnant. I did this in Russia once and was told off by another Russian woman who told me I must never comment on people’s (almost always women’s) pregnancies. Perhaps because there have been too many cases of non-pregnant but rotund women being congratulated on being pregnant.
